Tiny Dancer Dance Studio
Teaching ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, musical theater and pointe to nearly 600 children a year all across Northern Virginia, Tiny Dancer has two full-time studios in Fairfax and Gainesville, plus nine satellite studios throughout the rest of the region. For dancers ages 2 through 5, the programs are ballet-based with an incorporated literacy program. “We teach the children steps. Then we read them a story,” says Donna Rathe, who opened the studio doors nine years ago. “After the story, we pull out the dress-up bin, and they act out the story with the dances they have learned.” Every age group practices from September through June, ending the year with a recital. Classes and camps are also offered during the summer months. Multiple NoVA locations; www.tinydancers.com—LN
