Football season is upon us, and while the majority of the nation’s male population will soon be glued to the television every weekend, generally, ladies say they can take it or leave it.
“I don’t look forward to football season because my husband goes MIA and if his team loses, watch out!” – Not a Fan
We ladies know all too well that a guy’s mood can hinge on the outcome of a game, so winning is critical. While he’s yelling at the television, enjoy the time by yourself or with friends.
“On a recent first date, the guy had very little to offer. He was glued to watching sports on the restaurant’s television the entire time.” – Bad Date
On the bright side, he wasn’t looking at other girls and you found out quickly that you weren’t interested in taking the relationship further. It was a good lesson learned: on a first date, avoid going to sports bars, Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesday’s or any other establishment that has big screen TVs.
“Every date has something to offer if it involves sports! Nothing beats the energy. I met my ex girlfriend at a hockey game and liked her as soon as I saw her in the jersey.” – Sports Fanatic
A sporting event is a great place to meet people since everyone’s in a good mood. You can get to know someone very quickly, and it beats the bar scene. Cheers to a good dating season! Share your stories and comments with me at littleredbook@northernvirginiamag.com.
