Fairfax Symphony Orchestra Announces 2 Northern Virginia Concerts

The orchestra presents Patti LuPone in concert and will perform the score to the popular movie “How to Train Your Dragon.”

The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra has added two new Northern Virginia performances. Tickets for both shows are now on sale.

On March 5, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra presents Tony Award winner Patti LuPone. LuPone will perform her Matters of the Heart concert at Center for the Arts at George Mason University.

LuPone’s show is based on the CD recording of the same name which was released in 1999. She has since performed Matters of the Heart both nationally and internationally. The show features more than two dozen love songs ranging from Broadway favorites to works by today’s top contemporary songwriters.

How to Train Your Dragon

On March 14, audiences of all ages can experience How To Train Your Dragon – In Concert. The beloved movie tells the story of Hiccup, a young Viking who defies tradition by befriending a dragon he names Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes must fight to save both of their worlds.

The show features the complete film with its score performed live by the orchestra.
