Ooooh Lagasse! Hang with Emeril this Saturday

bio-emeril-lagasse_alBAM!! Whether you’re a true foodie or you’re just now getting your cook on, you’ll want to stop by the Tysons Corner Borders to meet and greet legendary chef and Food Network personality Emeril Lagasse. At 2 p.m. Saturday, he’ll be signing copies of his new cookbook “Emeril at the Grill.” It is the summer season, where cookouts and grilling sessions are plentiful, so let Lagasse give you some tips for your next outdoor shindig.

The Borders store in Baileys Crossroads has two author events: one at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with George Pelecanos, who was just at Politics & Prose a few weeks ago, and Norman Ollestad at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. He’ll be signing copies of and telling stores from “Crazy for the Storm,” his memoir about surviving a plane crash in a nasty blizzard as well as the relationship with his adventure-loving dad.

And at Politics & Prose downtown this week, Nicholas Schmidle stops by at 7 p.m. Tuesday to talk about the two years of reporting in Pakistan that went into “To Live or to Perish Forver,” and American Heritage editor John F. Ross discusses “War on the Run,” his historical book about 18th-century frontiersman and war tactician Robert Rogers, at 7 p.m. Friday.

11864_400x600Bruce Wayne may be dead (or at least stuck at the beginning of time depending on who you ask) but Batman lives on with Grant Morrison’s “Batman and Robin,” debuting this week. The whole thing has been hyped, so let’s see if Nightwing and Damian Wayne measure up as the new Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder. (Or, a better question is will the fans stick with ‘em?)

The fifth issue of “The Mighty” also hits stores, and those who likes superheroes-in-reality stories, you’ll love this Peter Tomasi series.

“Ultimate Spider-Man” ends its run at issue 133 — and that might have something to do with the fourth issue of the mega-crossover “Ultimatum” — while back in the regular Marvel Universe, the “American Son” storyline begun last week continues with Spidey planning his attack on Dark Avengers headquarters in “Amazing Spider-Man” No. 596.

What dish would you love for Emeril to cook at your next party? Share your dream menu in the comments section.

I’d venture to guess that Emeril makes a mean loaded burger.
