U.S. Marine Band

Former band director John Phillip Sousa stated that, “The Marine Band is the national band … as great among bands as America is among nations.” “The President’s Own” has been a part of U.S. history since 1798. Its chief performance task is to play for both the President of the United States as well as the Commandant of the Marine Corps, but the band has performed at every level from public concerts to private White House events, as well.
