Every parent has thrown money away on expensive enrichment classes or activities only to have their child want to quit after the second lesson. What if there were a way to sample classes without making a huge financial or time commitment? That’s where JumpIt Pass saves the day.
Started by local mom Robyn Churilla, JumpIt Pass is a monthly membership service that allows parents to choose from a variety of classes throughout the D.C. metro area. For a monthly fee, families can attend classes that include options such as kids’ gyms, music, drama, sports, dance, art, etiquette and more without a weekly obligation. JumpIt Pass members search on the JIP website and find classes that work best with their changing schedules. Kids have the opportunity to try something new or “jump” around to their favorite spots.
Churilla is no stranger to connecting parents with local resources. Since 2007, she has been the owner of Mamas Link, a networking and social group for new moms to preview classes and activities throughout D.C., Maryland and NoVA. Churilla got the idea for JumpIt Pass last year while on a family vacation with her brother. They discovered ClassPass, which allows adults to book exercise classes at a variety of gyms, and thought the concept would work well with kids’ classes.
“The flat-fee, monthly pass to a mix of venues has proven to succeed in many industries, and we knew it would work well with kid’s classes. With my brother’s encouragement and tech knowledge, we joined forces and created JumpIt Pass—the concept was a logical next step for Mamas Link, and we couldn’t be more excited,” Churilla says.
JumpIt Pass also benefits local businesses by helping them gain exposure, attract new clients and fill excess spots in their classes. “As a result, businesses that are a part of JumpIt Pass generate more incremental revenue and gain opportunities to sell auxiliary services like birthday parties, camps and special events,” Churilla says.
Parent feedback for JumpIt Pass has been extremely positive. With the diverse offering of classes, kids are likely to find what interests them. Jenny P., Arlington mom of a 2-year-old, says, “The caliber of venues offered through Jump It Pass is incredible, and the variety of classes is endless.”
JumpIt Pass is currently adding more and more venues to their lineup each week and will soon be expanding to two new cities. They are also launching two new membership plans soon, including an unlimited plan and a family plan. For more information, visit the JumpIt Pass online.
