“A Baby Affair,” the metro area’s boutique luxury consumer event for the modern moms and moms-to-be, is coming Sunday, March 17, 2013 to the Long View Gallery, in Washington D.C. This baby expo will feature outstanding baby exhibitors and products, pampering, information sessions with experts, a maternity fashion show, delicious fare, and a lavish goody bag for attendees.
Celebrity nursery designer, Sherri Blum will be on hand offering her tips and sharing her designs. Sherri, the owner of Jack and Jill Interiors and Boutique adds, “ I will be sharing the latest and greatest in nursery design trends and furnishings with the parents visiting the show. I also hope to make the point that preparing a nursery for your baby need not be stressful, but that with the help of a nursery designer the process can be fun and exciting and completely stress free. After your approval of the design, we handle the logistics of it all from planning to ordering and receiving and finally the installation while you sit back and watch the magic unfold.”
Additional exhibitors include Cozywoogle car seat jackets, King Soeil, Activity Rocket, Baby Blossom, J&J Bakeshop, Kid Trips local travel books, the Breastfeeding Chef, Let Mommy Sleep, Jammy Jams, newborn photographers and many more. View a list of current exhibitors online here. The event also benefits the local nonprofit, Mission Sleep, which works directly with Walter Reed National Military Medical center to provide free overnight newborn care to military moms whose parterns are deployed or wounded when baby arrives.
And dads can still have fun at A Baby Affair in the Gentlemen’s Lounge. Plus, eco-conscious parents can shop from a collection of “green” vendors in the “Growing up Green” section. Award-winning event planner Rachael Glaws wants attendees to “prepare for a feast of the senses, as you see, taste, touch, and hear everything you need for the chicest baby on the block.”
A Baby Affair starts at 11:00 a.m. at Long View Gallery at 1234 Ninth St, March 17, 2013. For more information and tickets visit www.ababyaffairdc.com. Tickets are available through the website or by calling 202-735-5162. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door.
