Facebookers flock to favorite foodstuffs Don’t believe the social media haters. Facebook isn’t just about stalking exes, covert job hunts or becoming a virtual mafia don.
There’s also some serious food worship afoot.
Everyone from cheflebrities to would-be foodies make no bones about broadcasting their love for all manner of food and drink, including:
1) Nutella – 3.8 million+ fans: site overflows with folks singing the praises of hazelnut spread and suggestive pics of devotees greedily shoveling nutella directly from jar to mouth.
2) Water – 1 million+ fans: comments run the gamut from the sophomoric (“Don’t drink water! Fish have sex in it!” – AT) to the scientific.
3) Bacon – 543k+ fans: no content whatsoever save for a gallery crowded with bacon explosion abominations and an ungodly number of women draped in bacon-forged lingerie.
4) Sriracha – 222k+ fans: main page (there are several) hosts ongoing discussions about the indispensable fire starter and recipes galore.
5) Whoopie Pies – 14k+ fans: offers some history of the ultra creamy treat, a few commercial links and a basic recipe for whoopee pie virgins.
6) Wine – 9,750+ fans: thoughts about favorite wines are peppered with Ben Franklinesque observations. And, finally,
7) Bouquet Garni – 15 fans: three instructional vids were posted in January 2009 and then … a whole lotta nothing.
