Nothing like waking up to the heavenly scent of from-the-oven croissants.
What’s that? Your daily regimen doesn’t include pre-dawn baking?
That’s where Carolina Garcia comes in.
The Colombian expat traded her degree in international business for a flour-dusted apron last summer when she launched LeoNora Gourmet Bakery. She spends each morning preparing traditional French breads, pastries, cakes and quiches, and then hops in the car to distribute said baked goods to those who worship both crumb and crust.
Her croissants are no lightweights, delivering buttery dough baked to a magnificent crunch. Gruyere and black pepper help gougeres rise to every occasion, while pearl sugar ensures chouquettes will top your go-to sweets list.
Garcia’s baked goods are available locally at select Whole Foods Markets and Boccato Gelato & Espresso (Arlington). For special orders, visit: www.leonorabakery.com
