April Showers Bring Gin Sours

If there’s any doubt that spring has sprung, head to Firefly for bar chef Alice Gaber’s fresh floral concoction. The rose and cucumber notes in Hendrick’s gin play beautifully off her own flower-liqueur infusion, making it the perfect Mother’s Day cocktail. For those celebrating a baby on the way, consider Hotel Madera’s Proudly Preggers package, which includes deluxe accommodations, a “Preggatinis: Mixology for the Mom-to-Be” gift pack (book, muddler and shaker), and an in-room mother-to-be harmony massage using organic Kirsten Florian products.

May Flowers

1/2 ounce house-made flower liqueur (St. Germain liqueur may be substituted)
1/2 ounce Hendrick’s Gin
1/2 ounce white wine
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

Shake all ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with edible flowers.
