Local girl Victoria Trummer returned to Clifton with a world of hospitality experience under her belt and dreams of a family-owned restaurant on her mind—a yearning that will be fulfilled with the debut of Trummer’s on Main.

The Trummers have reshaped the old Hermitage Inn into a multidimensional showcase featuring: a glass-enclosed tasting room, a second-story dining room with dueling fireplaces, top-story “gallery room” (available for private dining) and sun-catching “winter garden.”

Chef Clayton Miller, a French Laundry and Daniel alumnus, has been tasked with melding local flavors and contemporary cuisine. Menu to include: foie gras on country biscuits, vanilla pork with rhubarb and spinach, skate with smoked corn pudding, beef brisket with fried grits, and caramel marshmallows.

7134 Main St., Clifton; 703-266-1623; www.trummersonmain.com. Open for dinner, Monday through Saturday.
