Bistro Bistro

By Warren Rojas

Exurban commuters can count on easy access to classic continental cuisine at Sterling’s new Bistro Bistro. According to general manager Al Granick, a hospitality vet who’s done tours with Passion Food Hospitality and at Filomena, the upscale progeny of Shirlington’s more casual eatery will specialize in Franco-Italian favorites.

Chef Raoul Chea (last spotted at Da Domenico) will head up a kitchen tasked with turning out everything from a fritto misto of fried calamari and zucchini saddled with saffron aioli and croque monsieurs to brandy-splashed lobster ravioli and spaghetti carbonara. Granick says they’re also toying with some domestic favorites, including mini-burgers, and expect to deploy a buffet-style brunch shortly after opening.

46300 Potomac Run Plaza, Sterling; 703-430-2300; www.bistro-bistro.com. Open for lunch and dinner, Sunday through Thursday, late-night dining, Friday and Saturday.
