Siblings Stoney and Mandy Pickett are expanding the family brand (their parents operate Olde Virginia Catering) by launching a new comfort-food haven in downtown Fredericksburg.
The reconditioned Civil War-era structure will feature multiple dining rooms, a dedicated bar area, brick patio and private dining options. Stoney has big plans for an on-site smoker—he envisions slow-cooking everything from whole pigs to assorted seafood (trout, salmon)—while Mandy says they’re pulling out all the stops for brunch.
“We want to make sure it’s more than you can eat,” she states.
Dinner options to include: pork loin (carved tableside), pot roast, meatloaf and smoked turkey. Breakfast to turn on homemade sausages, country-fried steak and biscuits and gravy.
623 Caroline St., Fredericksburg; www.oldevacatering.com. Open for lunch, Tuesday through Friday, dinner, Tuesday through Saturday, brunch Saturday.
