Domestic abuse prevention charity The Time to Fly Foundation holds its 10th annual fundraiser today featuring Grammy-nominated artist Nicole C. Mullen. The Time to Fly Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women and children affected by domestic abuse, through both intervention and prevention.
While Time to Fly is not a shelter, its founder, Michele Jones, saw a need for a particular type of outreach. Shelters typically assist only those physically abused. But domestic abuse has many forms, and reaches far deeper than physical abuse. Time to Fly helps anyone suffering from an abusive relationship to heal themselves within.
Grace Covenant Church in Chantilly hosts this special concert, for which Mullen will be both keynote speaker and musical performer. Mullen’s career stretches across two decades, and she released her latest album earlier this year.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
