Santa

We all know Santa frequents the mall pretty heavily these days, but Fair Oaks has taken the traditional photo with Santa to new heights.  Their Ice Palace, in the middle of the mall, is 22 feet tall.

Children are welcome, of course, but Fair Oaks provides plenty of other photo opportunities.  The Ice Palace, it turns out, is multi-functional.  If you’re looking for a unique setting for your family Christmas card picture, or just want a cool photo of you and your friends hanging out in this crazy winter wonderland, go for it.  Anyone can get a picture taken in the Ice Palace sans Santa.  And if you insist, pet photos are available as well.

Santa doesn’t limit himself to the mall, though.  He’s all about the community.

This Saturday, Dec. 17, head to the Herndon Community Center for Santa’s Workshop.  Kids will love making Christmas crafts and playing Christmas games.  It wouldn’t be Santa’s Workshop without the man himself, so of course Santa will be there.  And if you’re hungry, the workshop provides a pizza lunch.  Registration ends today, so make sure you hurry.

Santa’s not hard to find these days, but make sure you watch out for these guys.

And since you’ll be at the mall, go shopping!  Don’t wait–believe me, it’s not worth it.  If you’re still short on ideas, check out our shopping experts’ excellent gift ideas.  And there’s more Christmas fun to be had–we’ve got you covered for any Christmas events in the area.  Tomorrow we’ll feature NoVA’s grown-up Christmas fun with some Classy Cocktails.
