When: Nov. 24, 6:30 p.m.

Where: Oatlands Historic House and Gardens, 20850 Oatlands Plantation Lane, Leesburg

At 29 years old, magic is anything but child’s play for Josh Norris. From hypnotizing members of the audience to performing risky games of Russian roulette, Norris proves to put on quite the magic show.  On Friday, Norris will perform his show, “An Evening of Mind Reading and Magic” at Oatlands Historic House and Gardens

Norris’ curiosity in magic tricks began when he was 12 years old.  He staged shows for his friends and family which included tricks with decks of cards and other illusions.  But it wasn’t until about five years ago that Norris discovered what he calls “mental magic”.

That is exactly what Norris has in store for his audience at Oatlands.  He will perform acts like hypnosis, the human lie detector and Russian roulette.  The audience is in for a real treat because this is not your typical pull-the-rabbit-out-the-hat magic show.

Norris’ favorite act to perform is the human lie detector.  “It is a game everyone can play because it’s just decoding people’s body language.  It’s a trick people can relate to and the reactions from the audience are a lot of fun,” said Norris.

For the past four months, Norris has been performing at the Hotel Helix in Washington D.C. but now he is touring outside the Nation’s Capitol.  Though his tour is winding down soon due to bookings of private corporate and social events, he will be back to touring beyond D.C. at the beginning of next year.

Tickets to this unique magic show are $40 per person.  Seats are limited, so reserve your tickets fast!  A reception will occur before the magic show which will feature food from Purple Onion Catering Company.  Wine is also available for purchase from Zephaniah Farm Vineyard

Oatlands is a 360-acre estate built in 1798.  Check Oatlands’ event calendar for future event dates at the historic house.
