When: Nov. 30-Dec. 2, Dec. 7-9, Dec. 14-16

Where: Del Ray Artisans Gallery in the Nicholas A. Colasanto Center, 2704 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria

Are you low on gift ideas this holiday season? Starting this weekend, the Del Ray Artisans Gallery will host their annual “Fine Art and Fine Craft Holiday Market”. Known as one of the most popular holiday shopping destinations in Alexandria, the Del Ray Artisans Market will give you plenty ideas for your family and friends that will make you shop til’ you drop.

From fashionable accessories to art pieces to hang in the home, the holiday market has a large selection. Unlike crowded malls and department stores, the Del Ray Artisan Market gives you the chance to talk to the designers themselves about their crafty creations. 13 individual artists will be featured throughout the three weekends—all of which live throughout the D.C. metro area.

Though this market has been going on for 17 years, there is a new feature children will especially enjoy. Little shoppers can visit the kids table where there are products sold at “piggy bank prices”. These kid-friendly crafts include jewelry pieces, cards, small purses and small artwork.  This is a great opportunity for kids to buy holiday presents for their family members.

The market will also have delicious treats all three weekends at its bake sale.  Proceeds gained from the baked goods will go towards Compute CORE, an organization helping low-income adults develop technical and life skills needed to pursue a career.

Last year’s holiday market attracted about 300 shoppers, so expect the numbers to be just as high this year.

Can’t make this weekend’s holiday market, don’t worry there are two more opportunities to get your hands on these hand-crafted trinkets. Artisans will still be selling their goods Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 14-16 at various times.

Market Schedule:

Fridays: Reception from 6-9 p.m.

Saturdays: Market open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Sundays: Market open 12-4 p.m.

Visit the Del Ray Artisan Market’s website for a list of this year’s artists. Entrance into the market is free.
