Patowmack Farm Fields James Beard Invite

Culinary wiz Christopher Edwards is heading up to New York on January 22 to headline his first James Beard House dinner–which shouldn’t be totally nerve-wracking, considering Edwards accompanied chefs Michael Kramer and Fabio Trabbochi to various Beard functions in the past–and he can’t wait to share the full spectrum of Virginia’s farm-to-table bounty with everyone.

That mission hinges on tantalizing Beard House guests with some 2007 Fabbioli Cellars Chambourcin, 2008 Corcoran Vineyards Viognier, 2007 Sunset Hills Vineyard Reserve Cabernet Franc, Ayrshire Farm veal and Rappahannock oysters.

“I also would like to bring some attention to our restaurant specifically, because I know that we provide the food and experience equal to that of any big city restaurant with four stars,” the self-confident toque said of the award-winning Patowmack Farm.

Edwards plans to expand upon his culinary repertoire in the coming year. The new menus will be even more ingredient driven than before, he pledged, noting that he’s added garden planning to his already full plate.

As for his dining plans while up in NYC?

“I do have a good friend at Per Se, so I might have to splurge,” he suggested.
