Resolution Dissolution

Dear dieters:

Any plans to clamp down on extracurricular dining will need to be cemented within the first 10 days of 2010. Because after that, the hospitality lobby would really prefer if everyone ate to the point of exhaustion:

The winter edition of our annual feeding frenzy kicks off with the D.C. Restaurant Week, poised to run from Jan. 11-17 and set to offer three-course meals during lunch ($20.10) and dinner ($35.10) at over 160 local restaurants.

The gourmet grazing continues with Alexandria Restaurant Week, spanning from Jan. 15-24 and featuring nearly four dozen neighborhood restaurants, cafes, bistros and even chocolatiers, looking to woo new regulars with $35 three-course deals, $35 dinners for two and $3.50 single treats.

To be perfectly honest, about the only places I’d even consider taking a stab at would be: 1789 (great deal), Bibiana (haven’t been), Bourbon Steak (assuming they offer up some primo entrees) and Sou’Wester (haven’t been).

But I will say that I was impressed by the Liberty Tavern’s summer RW program: full access to the menu plus a voucher for $5 off a future visit.

Any must hits on your 2010 agenda?

I was eyeing Sou’Wester as well. Actually, I was toying with the idea of going to Volt too. Any thoughts on Volt?
