GiraMondo Wine Adventures president Laurent Guinand is very excited about the wine intelligentsia who’ve signed on to spearhead his inaugural Wine Entrepreneur Conference (Jan. 21-22).
And we were equally enthused to see Guinand tapped several players from the Virginia wine scene to help steer the wide-ranging business discussions.
Homegrown talent slated to attend include:
* Heidi Arnold – Heart’s Delight Wine Auction
* Mark Clinard – Well Oiled Wine Company
* Rachel Martin – Boxwood Winery (her 2007 Rosé won over some non-believers during our in-house tasting)
* John Pucciano – Pucciano Consulting
* James Roth – Red, White & Bleu, and,
* Claude Thibaut – Thibaut Janisson Winery
“The goal is to establish this area as a significant wine region,” Guinand said of his long-range plans for the (hopefully) perennial wine gathering.
Those unable able to swing the $790 for full admission don’t have to miss out entirely, either.
Guinand and @WineTwits president Stephen Gilberg are hosting a “Sip & Twit” pre-party (the rare occasion when one SHOULD drink and text) on Jan. 20, promising a font of Chilean and Argentinean pours (they are the host embassies, after all) for $39.
