Updated February 17, 2022. What was once old is new again–thanks in most part to Gen Z coming of age. With vintage fun all the rage, it’s time to dust off those skates and show off your moves at the roller rink. Whether you are looking to teach your little ones how to skate or want to enjoy an adults-only night out, these are the rinks to visit.

Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink

Built back in 1903, this skating rink is full of history and fun. Whichever week you decide to visit there is sure to be a full schedule of events including toddler time, Adult Skate Night, open skate times, birthday parties, and family fun nights. In-line and quad skates are available for rent in a variety of sizes. They even rent adjustable over-the-shoe skates for little ones. Take a break from skating and enjoy other activities such as basketball, air hockey, table tennis, arcade games, and more. Plus there’s free Wi-Fi available for the parents, and food and drinks are served daily. 250 S. Nursery Ave., Purcellville

The Cavalier Family Skating Center

This Stafford rink is a huge facility with roller skating rentals, lessons, birthday parties, open skate times, video games, and a play zone for children. Make sure to stop by on Wednesday nights for the rink’s cheap skate night. From 6 to 9 p.m., admission is only $3 for all ages. The rink also holds the occasional specialty skating night, which in the past has included adult skate and all-night skate. Check out the website for details and the full calendar of happenings. 1924 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Stafford

Skate-N-Fun Zone

From Barbie- and Paw Patrol-themed skates to adult and family nights, everyone will have fun at Skate-N-Fun Zone. The venue rents and sells in-line and quad skates, hosts birthday parties, scout groups, and fundraisers, and teaches skating lessons too. Smaller children still learning how to balance on skates can push around a special “skate-mate” wheeled cart. If you’re looking to take a break from the skating fun, make a trip to the rink’s laser tag arena, play zone, and cafe. 7878 Sudley Rd., Manassas
