What’s for Dinner…next month?

Posted by The Editorial Desk / Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

I don’t know what I’ll be eating for dinner tomorrow night, but that doesn’t mean I can’t plan a little further in advance.  A month further in advance…

September 14 (Oh good, it’s a Tuesday – the day I usually find it difficult to muster up any home-spun culinary courage.) is the day set for this dinner featuring the cuisines of four restaurants and a wine to match each dish.

Let’s start with the Reception – brought to you by Big Bowl.  Chicken potstickers, summer spring rolls and spicy peanut noodles sound promising to wet the appetite.

Mon Ami Gabi will bring in the other first course with a red and yellow endive salad, blue cheese and a Torresella Pinot Grigio ’09 for libation.

Then Wildfire gets…un-tame…to show off their Spit-Roasted Tenderloin with shallot balsamic sauce, redskin mashed potatoes and wood-roasted asparagus.  All to be paired with the Geyser Peak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ’07.

For the finale, a Tarte Tatin and vanilla apple gelato complemented by a Robert Mondavi Moscato d’Oro.  You have the Community Canteen to thank for your dessert.

The dinner is to be served at 6:30p.m. in Wildfire of Tyson’s Galleria 3rd Floor.  Call 703-442-9110 for more information or to make a rez.  Tickets are $60 per person, plus taz and gratuity.

Now, what am I going to do for dinner tonight?
