103 burgers in eight minutes. That’s the record Joey Chestnut holds in the eating competitor world. Fortunately, he won’t be attending Whitlow’s contest. Hopefully, Kobayashi won’t crash the party either. So you might have a chance. There’s nothing shameful about 10 burgers in 15 minutes. On my clock, I can only conquer one burger per 45 minutes.
If the prize Whitlow’s polo shirt and ½ price burgers for 3 months isn’t tempting enough to compete, it’s just as fascinating to watch the jaws in action to consume maximum beef patties in 15 minutes. To participate call 703-276-9693 and be ready to adhere to the WOW Burgerdom Rules. These rules include that the burgers cannot be seperated, dunked, mashed, mushed or deconstructed for consumption. (One bite at a time, folks.) Also any “reversals of fortune” will result in disqualification. Ahem, in less poetic language – for all our sakes, try not to vom. Finally, the “Squirrel Rule” is in effect – unswallowed burger-matter will not count towards your final tally.
Head to Whitlow’s on Wilson for the finale to your Labor Day fun – September 6 at 5p.m. to watch a handful of brave gluttons defy all sorts of dining etiquette.
And hey – that’s a Monday, which means while your cheer for your favorite chompers, your burger(s) will be half-off.
