On November 13th and 14th, the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show is coming back to town. I attended the show last year and it was a blast. I was especially thrilled to see Paula Deen’s cooking demonstration and the event was everything I dreamed it would be and more. We tasted products that weren’t yet produced and voted on them, shopped for wine and cheese, and saw gingerbread mansions. The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show has over 300 exhibitors and features personalities from The Food Network. This years lineup includes Bobby Flay, Paula Deen, and Rachael Ray.
Denise Medved, the author of The Tiny Kitchen Cooking and Entertaining founded the show in 2005. Denise also hosts The Tiny Kitchen Television Show. General tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show website, or The Tiny Kitchen website.
Between meeting my favorite Food Network Star and taste testing everything I saw, I was giddy beyond comprehension. Althought we only had a ticket for one day, we could have easily come back for another. After the event, we decided to continue our culinary adventure. We headed to Zaytinya- a well-known restaurant that serves Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese food. Zaytinya is very close to the Convention Center and we had the opportunity to meet Mike Isabella from Top Chef who has since left Zaytinya to start his own restaurant. It was a very exciting day, and I can’t wait to go back this year!
