Spam musubi is a popular snack in Hawaii that originated from the Japanese “onigiri,” or rice balls. It is an extremely quick and simple snack to make. So whether you’re a broke college student on a budget, or love spam, you should definitely try this out.

What you will need: rice, seaweed (preferably the non-salted one), and a can of spam.

Cut the spam into 1cm thick slices.

Fry the spam until it reaches your desired crispiness.

Wash the can that the spam came in.

Pack the bottom with as much or as little rice as you would like.

Place one slice of spam into the can.

Cut the seaweed into strips and place one strip onto a plate (I didn't have scissors at the time so I had to rip it, but I definitely recommend using scissors.)

Center the can in the middle of the seaweed and place it upside down. You might have to tap on the can a few times for the rice and spam to loosen up and fall out.

Use water to wet the ends of the seaweed.

Wrap and enjoy! (The seaweed should stick to itself when wet.)
