The bucolic essence of Southern Virginia combined with the influences of Reese Gardner‘s western Pennsylvania background to create Copperwood Tavern, a new restaurant set to open September 30th in the Village at Shirlington. The tavern is decorated with ornate items that match farm-to-table dishes with ingredients supplied from six Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania farms. These dishes accompanied with a selection of small batch whiskies, IPAs, cocktails and moonshine convince Gardner “that we’re going to get some of those D.C. restaurant people out here to the Village to check us out.”
