Another year, another chance to eat all the right foods. Or …

1. Take a break from experimenting and actually follow my cookbook recipes. –NB

2. Try intestines. –NB

3. Master the art of cold-brewed coffee. -SB

4. No more Malbec. I’ll find another go-to red. –SG

5. I will finally use the creme brulee torch that’s been sitting in my cabinet, unopened, for the last 4 years. Thanks to my husband for picking up the $5 butane canister. –SG

6. Establish one bar I really enjoy getting dressed up for, and one bar for which I am comfortable enough to roll up to in pajamas. –NB

7. I will eat more kale, broccolini, swiss chard—and other underrated greens. -SB

8. Drink more sparkling water. –SG

9. Find a practical, reusable and fashionable water bottle. -SB

10. I will finish Dan Barber‘s textbook-like tome on the real meaning of seasonality and farm-to-table eating: “The Third Plate: Field Notes on the Future of Food” –SG

11. Find some great bar tools and start making cocktails at home. –NB

12. Visit restaurants close to metro stops to save money on gas and instead spend it on food and craft beers. –NB

13. Learn how to fry fruits like watermelon and strawberries. -SB

14. Find a lipstick that stays on through a meal. Maybe this? –SG

15. Expand my kitchen’s spice collection to include obscure ones like shichimi and anise. -SB
