Taste: A good pot de creme doesn’t need adornments. I love the thickness, the in-your-face dense chocolate. It beats mousse and pudding. It is the only chocolate I want on my spoon. But I will leave it to La Fromagerie to prove me wrong. A little sea salt; toasted, chopped pecans; and a whisper of powdered sugar turns this already decadent dessert into something that retains the dish’s simplicity but magnifies its beauty.
