Happy Friday!!! As you read this, I’ll be up to my eyeballs in deadline-day writing for our January issue. While I try to soothe any nerves and increase my creativity with a steaming hot hazelnut blend, I hope you’ll take advantage of some great sales, and clear your weekend calendar to make room for a few events well worth your time.
As for those sales, two of the standouts as far as I’m concerned are Cusp’s 40 percent off sale (online and in stores) on ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, handbags and accessories — the amazing store’s biggest sale of the season — and, for your holiday gift- or decoration-buying pleasure, Frongate.com’s site-wide 20 percent off sale (code: XXM13482).
As for those events I was referring to, if you don’t want to miss Santa’s arrival at Tysons Corner Center, you’ll want to get to the mall by 9 a.m. tomorrow (level one, Bloomingdale’s wing). Not only will you have the chance to say, “hi” to jolly old St. Nick; you’ll score a free breakfast, get to play games and more! And, that’s not all that’s happening at Tysons this weekend. Today and tomorrow, 97.1 WASH-FM will be at the mall for a special radiothon to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, D.C.
Then again, if you’re looking for truly one-of-a-kind gifts, you should stop by Vienna’s Lofty Salon and Wellness Center on Saturday. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lofty is hosting an Artisan Trunk Show featuring local craftsmen and designers (including Evelyn Brooks Designs) offering everything from jewelry to ceramics, clothing, handbags and more.
