Happy Hump Day, shoppers! With loads of holiday parties coming up, I can’t help but be excited to celebrate the season with my friends and family! I also can’t help but fret about what I’ll wear to all of the upcoming functions. Don’t get me wrong; I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to dress up and sport new looks, however, I’m being forced to shop smarter than in years past.
Sound familiar?
No worries: Carmen Lopez, owner of Clarendon’s oh-so-cool consignment store Current Boutique, was kind enough to send me a sneak peek of the holiday dresses, some new and others consignment, that the shop currently has in stock. And, today, SWAG buds, I’m thrilled to share some of those lovely looks with you!
To try on and purchase the dresses that follow and many more, not to mention the perfect jewelry and accessories — including earrings, necklaces, brooches, rings, wraps and clutches — to complete your dream holiday look, be sure to visit the store (2529 Wilson Blvd., Arlington — see Website for hours) soon. Then, get ready to steal the spotlight. As Lopez told me, “Our items are very unique and you are bound to stand out in a crowd in our pieces, so we tell everyone to expect compliments.”

The velvet trim, champagne lace and silk-lined dress by Diane von Furstenberg (to the left) is a festive consignment gem by one of the hottest dress designers in the world. The best thing about this fabulous frock, though, is that it will only cost you $150.

The flirt-tastic new Wishes, Wishes, Wishes black tier dress with patent leather belt (to the right) may be bare, but, recessionistas, the stylish bargain will have you radiating all kinds of heat for only $60.95.

Hitting home the fact that great party dresses don’t merely exist in the form of LBDs or have to cost an arm and a leg, the green Laundry consignment stunner to the left, only $100.95, is sure to turn heads at just about any holiday event.
In fact, you could even have a little money left over for a strappy lovely, too, like the gorgeous black-and-white silk Tracy Reese dress (consignment) to the right, which will only cost you a cool $75.95.
Actually, even if your social calendar isn’t particularly packed this year, there are many reasons to visit Current and stay current, such as Citizens of Humanity, Seven and Joe’s Jeans for around $55. Pretty sweet, huh?!
Happy shopping!
I really like shopnastygal.com–found the dress my mom wore to her rehearsal dinner 32 years ago when browsing on the site this summer! And here are some other great online recommendations from Lucky Magazine: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/27910005/
As for shops in the area that feature a lot of great vintage finds, I’m sure there is one, but I haven’t found it yet.
Has anyone else had better luck? Can you help?
Dude, that model is hot. Where do I get one of those? Just kidding, it’s my sister (eww). Nice dresses!

I love that these are recent dresses! Is there anywhere for good holiday vintage finds?
