Good morning, shoppers. Here’s hoping you’re all not letting this week’s gloomy market news get you too down. After all, there are plenty of diamonds in the rough. For instance, while it’s certainly not good news that Coach Inc. has had to lay off more than 150 corporate employees recently (see this Wall Street Journal article), the fact that the company is working to produce products of the same luxury-quality at prices 10 to 15 percent lower than in the past is certainly good news for newly conservative consumers.
What’s more, other savvy retailers are working to expand their reach by launching exciting new lines, taking advantage of ripe opportunities begging to be picked during this recession; one such example is Forever 21. The popular bargain treasure trove is to launch Faith 21, a new line for plus-size trendsters, on May 1 in a few select Forever 21 stores and online at forever21.com. Anxious for a sneak peek? Check out this article in the Los Angeles Times.

No wonder… I knew something was wrong when Coach started sending me 15% off coupons. But I do love that green bag and I do love the fact that they’re lowering their prices!
