Zac Posen (Food Network New York City Food & Wine Festival)
Good morning, shoppers. To offer you some happy news on an otherwise sad news day, it’s my pleasure to share the scoop on two upcoming events, one tomorrow and one in October, that combine two of our favorite things: fashion and food. (Thanks to our our dining editor Warren Rojas for the info.)
First of all, apparently the incredible fashion designer Zac Posen also happens to be quite skilled in the kitchen, and on Saturday, October 10, you could have him, along with Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis and James Beard Award-winning chef Marcus Samuelsson, cook a feast for you and others at the legendary James Beard House in Greenwich Village. What an experience! For tickets ($325) and more details, click here.
And, tomorrow, June 24, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the District’s Simply Soles shoe boutique (1438 park Road NW), there will be an exciting Designer Spotlight on Lee Riech, lead designer at Butter. Not only will Riech offer a special preview of the Fall Butter Collection; complimentary champagne will be provided by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, and hors d’ouevres will be provided by Entree Metropolitan Catering! Plus, if you make a $15 donation to Suited for Change, you’ll receive 15 percent off your total Simply Soles purchase that evening. To RSVP, please call 202-232-0072 or email info@simplysoles.com.
