Fashionably Paying Homage to the King of Pop

Posted by The Editorial Desk / Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Good morning, shoppers. If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know I’m a huge fan of locally-based crookedmonkey.com, which designs and sells super-soft, super-funny T-shirts, which are also found in major department stores and hip L.A. shopping haunts like Kitson — not to mention often spied on celebs like Ryan Seacrest. If you know me personally, you also know that I’m an even bigger fan of Michael Jackson.

Well, given that today is MJ’s public funeral and most of us weren’t lucky enough to secure tickets to it, I couldn’t be happier to let you all know about Crooked Monkey’s new shirts designed in honor of the music legend who, according to Jessica Kades, has long served as an inspiration to the company.

“Michael has always had a big impact on our company. When we launched our website in 2007, we wanted to bring our logo, the Crooked Monkey, to life. We produced a flash video of our monkey dancing the moonwalk and working the robot to the tune of ‘Billie Jean’ … it’s our favorite part of the site.”

Here are the MJ designs for girls, and here are the ones for the fellas. I think the one below is my fave:
