Truly Inviting Online Invitations

Greetings, shoppers! This one’s for all of the party planners out there, professional and otherwise, who enjoy the convenience and efficiency of online invitations, and favor them over paper options for environmental reasons, but miss the style and class that printed stationery exudes. You see, thanks to our dining editor, who delivers yet again, today I share a solution: Paperless Post!

Similar in some ways to other online invitation sites like Evite in that you can create personalized online invitations, send them to your friends and track responses, the biggest difference is the fact that Paperless Post invitations look like invitations that everyone is accustomed to receiving in the mail — envelope, fantastic design and all.

Speaking of design options, there are oodles to choose from in each of the following categories: Modern Formal, Modern Casual, Modern Holiday, Classic Formal, Classic Casual and Classic Holiday. And, you can even customize the envelope liner if you don’t mind paying a small fee ($5 per event).

This brings me to another difference. While signing up for a Paperless Post membership is free, after the first 25 free virtual stamps the company gifts every new member, you must pay to send invitations. Still, the cost is far less than what you would pay to send invitations via snail mail.

Here’s the cost breakdown for the virtual stamps:

60=$5 (postage equivalent: $25.20)

120=$8 (postage equivalent: $63.00)

200=$12 (postage equivalent: $210.00)

300=$18 (postage equivalent: $420.00)

500=$35 (postage equivalent: $1,050.00)

I plan to use the site for parties at Casa de Kaar, and, trust me, I’m a card girl — love giving them, adore receiving them. Apparently even Zac Posen and high-ups on the Hill are fans. But after you’ve had a chance to explore Paperless Post, tell me: What do you think of the site? Do you plan on using it?

I love sending and receiving mail too! Nobody seems to send mail anymore! But, this is a nice option. I definitely wouldn’t use it for wedding invites, but certainly for a party, showever, etc.
