Good morning, shoppers! I have great news for anyone planning on dressing up for Halloween this year, especially for those of you who, like me, always end up less than impressed with what you end up sporting! Yesterday, I found out that the Washington National Opera (WNO) will be swinging open its closet doors to the public for a costume sale, just in time for Halloween — its first public sale in six years!
From 10 a..m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 17 and 18 at its Takoma Park Studio at 6925 Willow St. NW (Rehearsal Room C, third floor), you’ll find over 1,000 costumes, everything from rehearsal muslins to couture gowns, shoes and accessories! Talk about one group’s space problem turning into a holiday dressing solution for others!
Making the event even cooler, WNO Costume Director Marsha LeBoeuf and her staff will be on hand to serve as personal shoppers and stylists, as well as to provide background information on each item.
With men’s and women’s costumes available as well as a limited number of children’s costumes, I’m told that individual pieces and accessories will start at $2 while most complete costumes will range from $50 to $200. WNO will accept cash, checks or credit cards. Just make sure to try on items before buying them; all sales are final.
Here’s a little preview, courtesy of WNO:

Speaking of Halloween costumes, tell me: What is your favorite costume ever — something you wore or spotted on someone else?
Ps. Do you think dropping the price on the Nintendo Wii will have a big impact on sales?
