Openings, Anniversaries & BIG Sales: Time to Celebrate

Happy Friday, shoppers! If you’ve had as busy of a week as I have, the fact that it’s Friday, alone, is reason enough to jump up out of your seat and do a little dance, right? Well, perhaps you should consider taking those hip-hop classes at the gym, because the celebrations should only continue.

Here are just a few of the fantastic shopping events this weekend that should keep you up on your feet:

First, Tysons Corner Center, together with Glamour Magazine is hosting an I {Heart} Shopping event tomorrow, Sat., Sept. 26, from noon to 5 p.m., featuring exciting freebies and exclusive discounts from Ann Taylor (25 percent off a $150 purchase), Armani Exchange ($25 off any $100 purchase), Bare Escentuals (20 percent off any purchase), Calvin Klein (two free panties), Express ($25 off a $50 purchase) and H&M ($25 off a $100 purchase) plus a chance to win a $5,000 shopping spree.

Also at Tysons tomorrow, Ed Hardy is celebrating its grand opening with nothing less than a Rock Star Carnival. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the new store will feature everything from airbrush tattoos and Glam Squad makeovers to cotton candy and popcorn.

If you’re in the market for some furniture, you might want to make a whole day of it in Tysons. Just down Rt. 7 from the mall, at Thomasville, you’ll find a Tax Rebate Sale, featuring six percent off (even better than tax savings) everything in the store. Plus, according to the Thomasville rep I spoke with yesterday, you can expect to find 25 to 30 percent of the floor samples marked up to 50 percent off on clearance. (Here’s hoping that includes a certain leather sectional!)

Inside the beltway, the place to be is Periwinkle, in Alexandria. The amazing store is celebrating its anniversary, doling out discounts and holding gift certificate drawings all weekend. Plus, the store promises a special creation by the Food Network favorite Charm City Cakes! My bet is that it will feature a killer shoe or a to-die-for dress. What do you think?
