Must-attend Shopping Events This Weekend and Next

Happy Friday, shoppers! Good news … If you don’t have any plans for this weekend or the next one, you may soon consider yourself in luck!

First and foremost, if you haven’t purchased your Halloween costume yet and are looking for a real winner, remember that this weekend the talented folks at the Washington National Opera are clearing out their costume closet, and you’re invited to scoop up the show-stopping ensembles! Then again, if some of the world’s most coveted stilettos are more your thing, don’t miss the opportunity to get a shiny new pair of Louboutins signed by Christian Louboutin himself next Saturday, Oct. 24 (1 to 4 p.m.) at Neiman Marcus in Tysons Galleria (703-761-1600)!  Or at least show up for the scheduled 1 p.m. Q&A discussion between the legendary designer and Accessory Fashion Editor Roopal Patel.

Of course, while you’re lusting after all of the lovely new Louboutins and meeting their maker, you’re going to want to make sure that your man sets his DVR to catch all of his football games because Nordstrom across the street is hosting Tom Julian, author of the “Nordstrom Guide to Men’s Style” from 1 to 3 p.m., same day. Not only will men serious about style (or seriously in need of a little wardrobe advice) get to meet the fashion guru and score an autographed copy of his book but Nordstrom’s men’s departments will be hosting trunk shows by Andrew Marc, Robert Talbott and Hugo Boss, too.
