More Sales, a Bloomies Benefit and a Party at the Patch

Posted by The Editorial Desk / Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Hi there, shoppers! If you missed all of the Veterans Day sales yesterday and thought your time to bag a bargain had come and gone, think again. The weather may be damp and cool outside, but the shopping world is hot to trot!

Ten of the happenings I’m guessing you may be most interested in (aside from the three fabulous events tonight, which I wrote about earlier this week):

1.) Gap’s Give and Get program, which starts today in Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy stores, featuring 30 percent off and helping out well-deserving charities (If you’d like to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as you save on seasonal fashions, hit me up for an invite at natalie@northernvirginiamag.com.)

2.) Friends and Family Sales at Bebe.com (25-percent savings with the code “FRIEND25″), whitehouseblackmarket.com (20-percent savings with code “8996″) and restorationhardware.com (20-percent savings with code “FFS2009″)

3.) The Closing Sale at oliounited.com, where ethically made clothing, art and gift items are now marked 50 to 70 percent off

4.) A huge sale sale on shoes and boots at stevemadden.com, where over 225 shoes are now being sold at up to 50 percent off

5.) The 24-hour Veterans Day Sale at chickdowntown.com, where sizzling styles are 20 percent off with the code “VET20″ through 11:59 tonight

6.) The 30-percent-off sale on Mommy & Me fashions at naartjie.com, one of my new faves for finding super-fun mix-and-match ensembles for infants and children

7.) The benefit at Bloomingdale’s in Chevy Chase tomorrow and Saturday where 10 percent of all sales made on the two days will benefit The Washington Ballet

8.) Simpatica’s Holiday Open House, in Fredericksburg, going on all weekend long, where you’ll find yummy snacks, discount shopping and a gift certificate drawing

9.) The Holiday Girls Night Out at The Dandelion Patch in Reston next Tuesday night, Nov. 17, where merchandise will sell for 20 percent off beginning at 5 p.m.–also, beginning at 7 p.m., tastings will be offered from Celebrations Catering and the Corcoran Winery; Matthew Christian Davis will be on hand to autograph “The Best of DC,” his 365-page coffee table book full of gorgeous images of local treasures; and Golden Girls LLC will be back, by popular demand, to pay shoppers for their gold and donate one-half percent of all gold reimbursements to Childhelp, which benefits victims of child abuse and neglect

10.)  Shop-O-Nomics at the Helix Hotel in D.C. next Friday, Nov. 20, an event where area vendors will offer sweet sales on everything from beauty products to designer handbags, with tickets costing just $5

Happy Shopping!
