Good morning, shoppers! Just in case you’re feeling a bit down today due to the weather, less than desirable traffic or generally too much stress at this busy time of year, I thought I’d throw a little feel-good information your way. After all, as much as I love the holidays, I’m right there with you. I got a soothing hand massage from Calvert Rejuvenations at the lovely party at The Dandelion Patch of Reston last night, and, trust me, there was no trouble finding the tension in my fingers.
What I’m excited to tell you about is two fun, fulfilling shopping events to support two remarkable charities.
First, friends, you may want to head to Alexandria’s Artfully Paper tomorrow, where from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., everything will be 20 percent off as the store supports one of their friends in raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, helping to find a cure and support for those with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.
Second, I believe you’ll want to mark your calendars for this Saturday’s Hope for the Holidays event at Saks Fifth Avenue in Tysons Galleria, featuring holiday caroling with the Washington Men’s Camerata and a canned food drive benefiting Food & Friends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring in a canned good (or two or however many you’d like) to Saks and you’ll receive 15 percent off of your purchase that day and take comfort in knowing that Food & Friends will receive five percent of the sale in addition to your food donation (with some exclusions).
Have a happy Hump Day!
