Critters (and Couture!) for the Cure

Hello, hello shoppers! It’s Devon again, filling in for Natalie today. I’m welcoming March with open arms and hoping warm weather isn’t too far off.  Is your work week off to a good start? I hope so; yet, if it’s not,  I have just the news to perk you up — and fill your planner as well as your heart!

You can now look forward to the Critters (and Couture!) for the Cure event to be held on Thursday, March 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bloomingdale’s store in Chevy Chase! Trust me, it will be worth the rush-hour trek to Maryland.

Hosted by the D.C. non-profit Critters for the Cure, almost 90 percent of the proceeds the benefit raises will be used to help local women who are fighting cancer and struggling to finance the treatment they need to survive. The evening’s focus will be a fashion show featuring beautiful female cancer survivors walking the catwalk in Bloomie’s fashions accompanied by their favorite critter friends, to look chic as well in items from Ralph Lauren’s Polo for Pups line and the pet outfitter Puppia. In addition, champagne, cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres will be offered as well as a luxury silent auction — not to mention fabulous goodie bags!

What’s more, Bloomingdale’s-Chevy Chase will donate 10 percent of supporters’ purchases on March 11!

Tickets to this feel-good (make that feel-great) event are $75 (general admission) to $150 (VIP).
