DKNY Striped Button Jacket with Sequin Anchor Tank and Pull On Legging with Slingback Wedge (dkny.com)
Hi there, shoppers! As this busy, busy month fills up with all kinds of celebrations, I’m hoping you’ll make room for at least one more big event. Earlier this week, I learned that DKNY will present its Spring 2010 collection for the first time in D.C. at the Second Annual Couture for a Cure Runway Show on Tuesday, May 25! The fashion- and hope-filled event, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, will be held in the Kogod Lobby of the Woolly Mammoth Theatre from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., with a VIP reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
For Donna Karan, getting involved with the event was very personal; having lost her husband and business partner to lung cancer in 2001, and having lost her best friend to both breast and brain cancer in 2009, she is all too familiar with cancer and remains dedicated to finding a cure.
“Cancer has touched all of our lives in one way or another,” says Karan. “To fight this dreadful disease, we have to come together as a community of compassion and consciousness. Couture for a Cure uses fashion as a platform to celebrate survivors and honor those we’ve lost. Together, we have the power to make a difference.”
I couldn’t agree more. How about you? Anxious to attend and do your part? Tickets, available online now, are $75 per person for general admission, $125 per person for VIP. All proceeds from Couture for a Cure will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
