Good morning, shoppers! It’s getting to be that time again, time for us to start thinking about our fall wardrobes. While getting ready to greet a new season with some fresh fashion finds can be extremely fun, it can also be a bit overwhelming. With all of the options, it can be difficult to keep track of what’s hot and what’s not, no?
To help make sense of it all, we turned to true fashion authority: Gregg Andrews, Nordstrom national fashion director. Here are the trends he suggests adding to your closet to look absolutely fabulous this fall.
Minimalism “The minimal look of the season is spare, but in no way plain. Interest is created by intricate seaming, luxurious fabrics and innovative silhouettes.”
Season’s Neutrals: Camel and Grey “Camel and grey are classic colors that convey timeless style. Mix different shades and textures to create a rich and luxurious look.”
Utility Chic “The utilitarian look for fall 2010 has greater sophistication than past seasons. With uniform inspired details- epaulets, cargo pockets, toggles and richer fabrics, these functional pieces offer true utility because you can transition them from work to weekend.”
New Shaped Pants “The new pant silhouette takes a menswear-inspired trouser and tapers the leg to give it a relaxed, womanly shape. High heels and a defined waist keep the look feminine and flattering.”
Animal Prints “Animal prints are the perfect accent to fall’s rich, neutral shades. Try a little leopard or a touch of cheetah to add print and personality to your outfit.”

Stuart Weitzman 'Vigorous’ over-the-knee boot, leather, almond butter calf, $595. In Salon Shoes at Nordstrom and online at nordstrom.com.
Wardrobe of Boots “This fall you can wear a different style boot every day of the week. From over-the-knee, to military-inspired, to countless styles of booties, you can change or update anything in your wardrobe by simply adding a boot.”
Satchels “Satchels have so much appeal because they are refined and functional. The updated shapes and unique hardware make these classic bags modern.”
Return of the Hat “Hats have made a huge come back. Stylized fedoras, cloches and driving caps allow you to make an outfit uniquely your own.”
I don’t know about you, but it sounds like the upcoming season will be a very stylish one. A different pair of boots for every week? Lots of camel and grey? Cool hats? Sign me up!
Happy shopping!
