Hello there, shoppers! While I hate to bring up the fact that school is just around the bend — what a fast summer! — it’s my pleasure to send the scoop on what’s hot for heading back to school, straight from the fashionable folks at Bloomingdale’s.

What to look out for on the racks and then eventually in those hallowed halls …

The Hottest Trends for Girls:

-  Brightly colored belts to add just the right amount of  “pop” to any outfit

- Backpacks that are army- inspired, metallic or showcase preppy argyle prints

- Studded ballet flats for a “rocker chic” touch

- Faux fur vests, chic motorcycle jackets and the perfect preppy blazer

-  Sporty North Face backpacks, ideal for all his school-year needs from toting books for class to after-school sports practice

- To top off an already stylish look, a knit hat

- For the feet, canvas slip-on styles or the classic Converse sneaker to add just the right amount of pizzazz to jeans and a tee or dress pants and a suit jacket

- For outerwear, plaid flannel shirts layered over favorite tees, puffy vests or jackets and track jackets
