Hello there, shoppers! Whether you’re in need of a  trim or seeking a whole new hairdo, November 13 brings a very special opportunity to do far more than maintain your mane.

Solarus Salon & Spa in Arlington will be hosting a cut-a-thon from noon to 5 p.m. to help nonprofits in Haiti working to bring jobs and economic stability to the earthquake-ravaged region.

Cuts will be just $45 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the cause. Solarus is supporting local yoga teacher Kristin Adair, who has partnered with the yoga and activism group Off the Mat, Into the World to raise $20,000 for sustainable relief efforts in Haiti. Donations will support Haitian organizations providing education programs and loans for Haitian women to start their own businesses and build a new community center as well as an eco-friendly orphanage and children’s center in rural communities severely impacted by the 2010 quake.

To help your hair and Haiti, call 703-243-7283 and make an appointment.

Happy shopping!
