Spring Designs Sprouting at Area Retailers

Trends of the season have us seeing yellow and birds

As we all sit in the warmth of our home—and if you are like me, still surrounded by the silver, gold, red and green of the holiday season—we are beginning to see a trickle of the spring season in home design. Numerous retailers are putting out their fresh catalogs, drawing us into the items that would fit perfectly in that one spot you can’t seem to get right.

The one I am most intrigued with right now is West Elm’s take on yellow—a perfect color to rip you out of the winter blues—and their all around design with spring notes.

Some of the items I have already earmarked for my ideal spring living room layout …

Main-stays:

•

  Wrap dining chairs. With colors in yellow, white and chocolate, and arms that hold you in all while giving plenty of room to maneuver, these chairs are sure to go with any modern or transitional décor, whether it is around a table or tucked in a corner.

• Cooper Collection. And while we still have a couple more months of cold, windy days, what better thing to do than to relax in a cozy, yet streamlined sofa or chair? The Cooper Collection allows for this and is also earth-friendly with faux suede coverings and responsibly harvested and recycled construction materials.

  Flower-Dot Upholstered Slipper Chair. A throw blanket, cup of tea and a good book is all that is needed for pure bliss while waiting for the temperatures to rise.

• Top-Drawer Side Table. A perfect fit for the above mentioned chair.

• Chrysanthemum Rug. When you think of spring, flowers seem to come to mind. This beautiful rug, in a wonderful neutral tone, set the right tone to any home.
