When considering whether to move or stay in place when retirement looms, a checklist may be useful. Create your own or search the web for one. Here’s one provided by Wellsfargo.com.

Proximity to family, network of longtime friends, cost of living and taxes need to be added to the list.

Look for places that have good marks for what is important to you. On this short checklist, NoVA is likely to be a good match for retirees who rank items 2, 5, 6 and 7 high on their list. On housing affordability, NoVA will not rank high.
