Pray Together, Date Together

We heard from a reader this week whose friend is ready to settle down. According to one source, the average age for a woman to marry is 26, and the average age for men is 28. Readers advise selecting traits in a partner which are important to you.

“Her friend needs a mate who is as religious as she is. I am religious and go to service regularly. I met a guy online who seemed perfect but he was not a church-goer or even a believer. He never came to service with me even though I asked him to. I started thinking long-term about marriage and children and figured there would be bigger and more complicated issues ahead so we cut ties. Religion, finances, and politics are big deal breakers for me.” – Jamie

Many believers attend church to find a God-fearing partner. There is nothing wrong with that if you’re looking for a partner who is religious. Through church activities, people often find partners they are compatible with.  According to an acquaintance of mine who has attended church in Clarendon, young (and ready to mingle) singles attend Sunday evening mass in hopes of seeking not only the Word of the Lord but also a date.
