First-Ever Bloomies Outlet Opens at Potomac Mills

Who needs Starbucks when you have pick-me-ups like L.A.M.B. pumps and Raymond Weil watches at wow ‘em prices?

Friday morning, Woodbridge welcomed the world’s premier Bloomingdale’s outlet with a lively ribbon-cutting ceremony at Potomac Mills, just steps away from other luxury discount stores including Neiman Marcus Last Call and Saks Off Fifth. After enjoying refreshments and moving beats from D.C.’s Urban Nation H.I.P.-H.O.P. Choir, Bloomingdale’s Senior Vice President of Outlet Stores Arnold Orlick welcomed excited shoppers and let them know what they were in for in the new store: “Bloomingdale’s best brands at amazing prices … great fashion, great service.”

Orlick also shared the news that Bloomies will be opening up three more outlets in the near future, the second one this week in New Jersey, at Bergan Town Center in Paramus, the other two in Florida this fall, in Miami and Sunrise.

As soon as Orlick, along with Bloomingdale’s Operating Vice President of Outlet Stores Mark Cechini and Board of County Supervisors officials, cut the signature black-and-white ribbon, shoppers were off to enjoy exactly what Orlick had promised. Beautiful bargains span the 22,000 square feet, like L.A.M.B. stilettos for under $150, Hugo Boss suits at $300 off, a huge array of designer denim from brands like J Brand, 7 for All Mankind, Current/Elliott and Paige for around $100, plus plenty of friendly faces to help shoppers navigate the sale splendor.

One Bloomingdale’s rep at the opening was smitten with the Raymond Weil collection. Chatting with him in Fine Jewelry, he confessed, “I’m being bad already.” With Raymond Weils, which are “always at least $1,000″ going for under a grand, his willpower was waning.

Mary Donahue, shopping with her son, Jack, had also found some good bargains soon after breakfast. But it was about time. Speaking fondly of the new store, she noted, “We’ve been waiting for a while for it to open.”

Ditto.
