Excellent Fish AND Chips
Written by NDqha on 9/7/2009

After scouring Dublin and London's best chippers, I came to the conclusion that no chipper could make excellent fish AND chips. Imagine my surprise when Eamonn's appeared in Old Town. Amazing! Excellent fish AND chips! Now that's what I'm talking about. Although they make excellent cod, and cod is one of the traditional fish to use, I am in love with their grouper, which I believe to deliver more fish taste than the cod. And the delight of being able to enjoy thick crisp chips alongside my grouper just takes the cake. The ambiance is complete with no frills and piping hot food served in plain brown bags. How lucky am I that I don't have to buy a plane ticket for a truly authentic experience.

Eamonn's - Cod bless Eeamons!
Written by xoxoamy on 8/2/2009

i walked in & was immediately greeted by the simple communal wooden tables and chairs filled with eager hungry people chowing down. I ordered the signature fish & chips and after having my number called, strolled back with my food filled brown bag ready to be ripped open & devoured. Soon, the excitement is explained. The cod is fried to a thick golden crisp on the outside but succulent, juicy and moist on the inside. Surrounded by the Secret Seven Sauces(from tartar to chesapeake to curry), you will find one that will tantalize your taste buds. The "chips" are lovingly hand cut & this place does not go small on the servings! An offering of Irish soda with flavors such as lime & orange were a different delight, especially with their fruit bits as a surprise inside the can. For dessert, there's no usual ice cream & cake but dough balls & fried bananas instead. Prices? The price is right for this Dublin Chipper
