As spring peers around the corner, everyone feels the need for a little spring cleaning, which, in my personal opinion, always calls for a good redecoration of a room or two. Step 1: Stripping off the old, wintry, heavy duvets and replacing them with a lighter and more brightly colored cover.
If home décor and interior decorating are your calling, then Virginia-based Swank Designs (with all products manufactured here as well) should be your next stop. Introducing their new line of custom pillows, drapery panels and children’s bedding, Swank Designs features a unique collection of paired fabrics, embroidery, embellishments and patterns.
Owners Tabitha Mahaffey and Patricia Ulliman, both animal aficionados, have named several of their newest panel and pillow lines after much-loved animal friends. The Tucker panel, for instance, is named after a pal’s German Shepard. (Note to self—next time I need inspiration, turn to my little fluffy friend for help!) Some SWAG faves from Swank: The Emily panel, named after Ulliman’s daughter; The Ziggy bedding line, with a quirky zebra pattern; and The Meninas, with figures, polka dots and vines.
The designs bring new appeal to décor and can help set a lighthearted mood in any space. Mahaffey states, “No two people are alike, and your design style should follow suit. Spaces that are rich in life and soul are where people live most comfortably and most beautifully.”
Add a little swank to your home this spring!
